Are you stuck in your goal-setting process? Are you fed up with not being able to stick to your New Years’ resolutions? We are 3 months into the year and I’m here to tell you that there’s a way that you can be successful in pursuing the things that matter most!

I follow other bloggers and content creators who have been using PowerSheets for years – and I was so curious to find out more about this magical tool! They raved about how they were able to track habits and goals and remain focused throughout the year. I had to find out for myself if this was truly what they made it out to be.
I purchased a 2020 PowerSheets Goal Planner in December of 2019, just in time to set all of my goals for the New Year. For years, I’ve had a tradition of sitting down with a notebook and jotting down all the ways I want to be my best self for the new year – but PowerSheets took it to a whole new level.
The first 30 pages are known as ‘Prep Work’ pages. These pages are curated with the purpose of helping you pause and map out exactly what is important to you. It’s interesting how through these pages, you learn how silly some goals might be, and how important other parts of your life are that you hadn’t even thought of when plotting out your initial goals.
Sections of the Prep Work pages include:
- Goal ideas for the year
- Things that fire me up
- What good things happened this year?
- What lessons did I learn this year?
- What things am I saying ‘yes’ and ‘no’ to?
- Vision board
- Word of the Year

These pages help you to build a foundation by revealing what truly matters. This section transitions into the goal planning area which helps you create a system by turning your big goals into attainable action steps. The planner is designed for 8 goals, but don’t feel like you have to set 8 if you only have 4 or 5.
A crowd favorite within the PowerSheets community is the Monthly Tending List. This is where you track your attainable action steps that are leading you toward your big goals. This list is broken into monthly, weekly, and daily action items / habits. Here, you can write down some encouraging words for the month and your top priority. I like to keep this page open on my desk next to my TomBow highlights, so I can track my progress throughout each week of the month. It’s so much fun to see the Tending List come to life, when toward the end of each month, it’s filled with color!

To sum it all up, if you are looking for a new way to set and track your goals, I highly recommend you try out PowerSheets. If you are hesitant to commit to a full year, they recently came out with an undated, half-year version! This is perfect if you want to give it a try for six months, or use it throughout the year, as you see fit.
